Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about flooring
Product Questions
What’s the difference between hybrid and laminate flooring?
Hybrid flooring has a waterproof core (WPC or SPC) making it suitable for wet areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Laminate has a wood fibreboard core and should avoid moisture. Hybrid is more durable and water-resistant, laminate is typically more affordable.
Which flooring is best for high-traffic areas?
For high-traffic areas, we recommend hybrid flooring, solid timber, or premium carpet with nylon fibres. Hybrid offers the best balance of durability, water resistance, and low maintenance. For commercial spaces, vinyl plank or polished concrete are excellent options.
Can I install flooring over existing tiles?
Yes, in most cases hybrid and laminate flooring can be installed over existing tiles if the surface is level and stable. We assess each site individually to confirm suitability. What flooring is best for the Gold Coast climate?
Gold Coast’s humidity makes hybrid flooring the most reliable choice. It won’t swell, warp, or be damaged by moisture. Engineered timber is also suitable if properly acclimatised. Avoid solid timber in wet areas and laminate in high-humidity rooms.
